Meet the amazing team of Cornell Studio Supply! A knowledgeable, resourceful, supportive, and talented bunch . . .
Or at least we think so!
Erin is the owner of Cornell Studio Supply. She has been working in clay for over 15 years and worked as a full time cone 6 electric studio potter from 2005 until 2011 when she took over the shop. Since then Erin has been teaching her made skills in the shop and using her connections to bring amazing workshops to the area. She understands what quality service is and what to expect out of your clay supplier. She spent 5 years, three hours away from her closest supplier, while living in Texas with her husband. She learned that internet shopping was convenient, but when it came to technical support, it was the independent small businesses that always had a real person with an answer. This is what Erin strives to do — have a supportive friendly face and the knowledge to get you going in the direction you want with your work. Erin knows Cornell Studio Supply is a valuable asset to the Miami Valley area and strives to give the best support you need to succeed in the ceramic world!
Lynn is the friendly face behind the counter at Cornell. Lynn is proficient in cone 10 gas firing, cone 6 electric, and her experience in wood firing is building. (She has managed the All Women’s Woodfiring which is AWESOME!) She creates her work in her home studio and teaches basic wheel throwing here at the shop. Her decoration techniques are to kiln for and she offers a class in this once a year. She enjoys a good laugh and knows how to tell a tale. Trust that your clay needs will be met with the attention you expect and deserve while on the phone or in person with Lynn!
Nicolin is our new artist-in-residence here at Cornell Studio Supply. In 2017, Nicolin earned his masters degree in ceramics from Kent State University. Since then he moved back to his hometown of Wilmington where he taught a ceramics class at Wilmington College. Nicolin has also taught at Stivers School for the Arts in Dayton. Currently he implements multiple approaches in working in clay to create both sculptural and functional works of art.
Our new delivery person, Jess is a figurative painter and sculptor. When not creating art, she is crafting cocktails at a local fine dining establishment. Jess loves a good laugh cue the Benny Hill soundtrack. You can be sure she will provide awesome service while delivering all your clay needs.
