Cone 5/6

Cone 5/6 Glazes are fired to mature glaze temperature between 2100-2270 Degrees Fahrenheit.  AMACO refers to these glazes as “High Fire” however they are actually “Midfire” glazes as typically anything fired over cone 8 is “High Fire”.  This firing range makers bisque fire low (our recommendation is cone 04) and glaze fire higher at cone 5 or 6 sometimes as high as 7 and as low as 4.  All of our cone 5/6 glazes like to be fired to the recommended cone temperatures listed on the bottle and used on a clay body that vitrifies at cone 6.
