Workshop with Didem Mert & Jeremy Randall
DJ - Play that Slip Workshop!
Join Didem Mert (she/they) and Jeremy Randall (he/him) in a handbuilding and surface EXTRAVAGANZA! Bring a childlike sense of play back into your clay practice! Those with some clay experience are all welcome for this "handy" workshop.
Didem will teach participants how to make soft slab and pinched vessels, over three different handle designs, coil and pinched and paddled large coil vessels, jewelry and more!
Jeremy will show slab construction with tar paper templates, various constructed cup shapes and other functional vessels such as jars, teapots, vases, and wall pieces.
Oh, you thought we were only going to learn constructing and building techniques in this workshop? Guess again! These two surface wizards will also show participants how to use slips, underglazes, glazes, terra sigillata, stencils, masking, and more to create one of a kind electric fired surfaces that POP and feel alive!
Participants should bring one bisqued piece to try out different surfacing techniques and materials during the workshop. Come play in clay with this duo!
PARTICIPANTS HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO MAKE:

Lunch is ordered from Warehouse 4 down so bring cash, or you can pack your own. There are also a dozen more restaurants and fast food near our shop.
Many hotels in the area if you are coming from out of state. Fly into Dayton International Airport.
